My Tips

Being new to blogging, it has taken me quite some time to work out what I am doing. My first reaction to this task was to panic. I am now incredibaly behind and had better stop procrastinating.

Here are my tips for blogging (Hope they are not too basic ).

1. When creating your blogg choose a password that is obvious to you but not obvious to other people. That way it is easy to remember and other people will not be able to guess it. You do not want people getting into your blog and changing things.

2. Don't be afraid to have a go. I found the instructional videos available very helpful (http://www.blogger.com/start). If you are unsure about how to do something, just try it and see. I found it easy to undo things, when what I was trying to do didn't work.

3. Take time to consider the colours and styles you choose. Pick colours that match well together and that enable text to be read easily. Choose a style that matches your personality. That way anybody who visits your blog has a little more insight in to who you are as a person.

4. Do not post anything too silly on your blog. Once you post it, it is there for other people to see. It is a good idea to look at what options are available to limit the people who can view your blog.

5. Do not allow children to blog. Children may disclose personal information that should not be given out over the internet (eg- names and addresses). When on the internet it is very easy to forget, that the information you provide is sometimes avaliable to strangers. Also information children read in other blogs may be of an unsuitable nature.

  1. Hi Rachel, especially like your tip number 5. Very wise. Although I notice they are introducing blogging into school these days.

Great start by the way, going well :)
