When I first read the description of this task I was apprehensive as I thought I didn’t have the skills to be able to complete the task. During the tutorial I was surprised at how easy it was. The tutorial was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the whole experience. The main problem I encountered was that I saved my work half way through and had a brake. When I returned to finish the task I found that when I saved the new entries in notepad these were the only entries that showed up in my browser. I still don’t know why. I saved it several times making sure that I was saving it in the same format, with the same name in the same section but I still had no luck. Eventually I decided to start again. My second problem was the link I had set up in my page did not seem to work. I thought this may be because it was not online yet. I will look into that when I have time. The task did take me a while to complete. However, I found the task to be very interesting and informative.
The differences between html and blogging.
I find blogging to be so much easier than html. All the tools are there for the user to access when creating and posting to a blog. Unlike html where the user needs to be familiar with the program to be able to use it. It would take longer to create a page using html than it would a blog. With html there are no templates available to use as a starting point.
I think someone familiar with html would probably prefer html because it seems to be much more adaptable, offering more freedom and the ability to create what you want to create. At this stage of my learning I am comfortable with blogging. This task has increased my interest in html and I am looking forward to learning more about it as I think with practice I will enjoy using it as it offers greater options and creativity.
